My Vision

Our city centre is ready to kick some goals. This will require experience and perseverance, know-how and passion. Since being elected as your City Ward councillor in 2017, I have championed your interests and helped to make our ward a safer, more vibrant place for residents, businesses, visitors, and wildlife.

Now I am seeking your vote for re-election so that I can continue to work hard for your city. With your support, I promise to champion your interests, address your concerns, and to fight to ensure Fremantle’s next era of success.

1. CHAMPIONING RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES

As an MBA-qualified business owner my approach is proactive and measured: we need to increase City Ward population, but not at the expense of existing residents or heritage; we need to pursue smart development that benefits the community and supports local retail.

As your councillor, I threw my support behind the residents of Quarry Street when land rezoning could have cost the neighbourhood dearly. With big projects such as “Pipes for Freo” and the Walyalup Civic Centre posing real challenges for local businesses seeking to remain open in the face of ongoing construction, I worked with residents and businesses to deliver real solutions, meaning we never lost a single business.

Our city needs to be easily accessible to everyone; this means integrated transport options, including the CAT, to free up parking.

With your vote, I will continue to champion the interests of residents and businesses to deliver real solutions on the ground.

2. POSITIVE SOLUTIONS FOR A SAFER CITY CENTRE

Our city centre should feel safe. I’ve pushed hard for a new city ward police station, cleaner streets, collaborated with city staff to make our community safety team more visible to the neighbourhood and worked with St. Pat’s to create the Freo Street Games, which deliver fun and prosocial weekly exercise programs for people in need on our streets.

These are all parts of my proactive strategy to curb antisocial behaviour while promoting more positivity throughout our city and helping those in need.

With your vote, I will fight to ensure that city ward gets the investment in safety that you deserve, while also helping those most vulnerable.

3. A CITY THAT LEADS THE WAY

Success requires equal parts know-how and passion. This is reflected in my efforts to make Fremantle an ecological role-model for other cities and councils.

In 2019, I successfully passed policy into law, protecting the beautiful native birds that liven up our city from roaming housecats. This policy has inspired Cockburn, Vincent, Kwinana, Rockingham, and Melville to follow suit, and I am helping to guide the councillors in these regions.

With your vote, I will continue to get policies passed that make city ward a leader and a haven.

“As your councillor, I am inspired by how our community pulled together through the COVID period and remain excited for Fremantle’s future.

With your vote, we can build on this momentum to deliver Fremantle’s next era of success.”
